About the Book

On its surface, From Chains to Change is a reflection of 365 days in confinement. It reflects one man's suffering and struggles to overcome adversities while incarcerated. But much deeper than that, it is the author's compellingly candid journal of his personal faith-journey. As he reaches out to God from his prison cell, the author shows us that one can break the chains of our sin no matter what our circumstances. From Chains to Change is about renewal and reaffirmation of a life changed and made new.

About the Author

Glenn Johnson was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. He is a decorated Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy, and a graduate of The College of Dupage with an A.A. degree in sociology. He has been a policeman, fireman/emergency medical technician, lineman and freight car repairman for the railroad, and worked in Fire and Disaster Restoration in northwestern Illinois until April of 2004. Glenn spent from April 30, 2004 through August 16, 2006 incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections. From Chains to Change is a collection of letters written from January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005. Glenn spent time in the segregation unit at Stateville Correctional for six months, and it is through those experiences that the idea for the book took shape. More than anything, Glenn wants to share his first-hand account of that experience so others might have greater insight. Glenn has three children and six grandchildren. He and his wife Carol are members of the First Church of the Open Bible in Freeport, Illinois.
