WCP's Comprehensive Publishing System is a structured plan designed to encompass every element of producing, distributing, and marketing a book. Our editing, design, and marketing professionals have all collaborated in the creation of this system to ensure your path to success.

You are a part of a team now and throughout this process, an active participant in every aspect of the publishing journey. Our 24/7 web-based project management system allows you full access to all the information, project status updates, and team dialogue regarding your book––and you have complete access to it at all times.

Our Comprehensive Publishing System includes the following 8 components:

1. Multi-Phase Editing
   
   • One marketing edit to determine the overall viability of your book in the marketplace.
   • One substantive edit to shape organizational structure, logic, design, consistency or narrative voice, timeline structure, character development, and more.
   • One copy edit for punctuation and grammar, sentence structure, and ongoing substantive development.
   • One proofread edit to provide the final check for inconsistencies of your text and layout before your book goes to market.
     
     
2. Professional Typesetting and Interior Layout Design
   
   Your manuscript will be professionally typeset according to industry standards and presented in a polished, reader-friendly and accessible format for both standard print and e-reader formats.
   
   For additional fees, you may incorporate design elements, illustrations, or photos to engage your readers, help your book stand out and make it memorable.
   
   
3. Customized Book Cover Design
   
   Your book cover design consists of a front cover, spine, and back cover. Each element is professionally designed and Windy City Publishers' experienced copywriters provide all jacket copy. All WCP covers are customized and our illustrators work with the authors to create a vision that is not only aesthetically pleasing but marketable as well. Authors may also provide their own artwork or works to which they own the rights or have legal permission to use. Commissioning an original illustration or photograph may result in additional fees.
   
   
4. Website Creation
   
   You will receive a customized author website that includes up to five pages to help promote you and your book. Elements of your Author Website include:
   
   
   • About the Author : Tell fans about yourself and your book(s).
   • Media Kit : Includes your press release and other essential publicity materials.
   • Bookstore: Connects to online outlets selling your book(s)
   • Contact: Includes information on how fans and media can contact your directly
   • Upcoming Events: Inform your fans and followers where you'll be appearing next.
   
   
5. Marketing and Publicity––Book Marketing Essentials™
   
   Windy City Publishers creates a personalized roadmap that enables you to easily implement your customized marketing plan. And we provide the support to help you execute that plan. Our two-part, trademarked marketing system provides the following professionally developed services:
   
   
   1. Part One: Includes either Marketing a Fiction Book or Marketing a Nonfiction Book, written by WCP professionals to teach authors the basics of the publishing business and how to transfer successfully writing a book into successfully selling one.
      
   2. Part Two: A professionally developed customized strategic marketing plan and workbook, individualized for each author, and drawing upon his or her personal marketing strengths. The plan focuses on the target audience of the book and the likely media sources that can best reach that audience.
   
   
6. Promotional Materials
   
   WCP designs and provides the following promotional materials to help market your book:
   
   • 1000 Business Cards (to hand out to friends, family and acquaintances)
   • 250 Sell Sheets (for libraries and bookstores)

   WCP adheres to all industry standards regarding registration and distribution of your book. These include:
